We are
located on the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) campus at the
Frank Ritter Memorial Ice Arena. The Frank Ritter Memorial Arena at
RIT is the "Home" rink of the Genesee Figure Skating Club. The club
office, lounge, conference room, professional offices, and locker rooms
are all located at the rink. The club uses thirty-six hours of ice at
the rink each week from early September to the end of April. An
eight-week summer session also takes place at the rink from the middle
of June to early August.

The arena is named for Frank Ritter,
grandfather of F. Ritter Shumway. Shumway was a founder and President of
the Genesee Figure Skating Club in 1955, President of the USFSA from
1961 to 1964, Adult Dance competitor and Sectional Champion for many
years, and founder and chairperson of the USFSA`s Memorial Fund. Shumway
passed away in March of 1992, shortly before his 86th birthday.
The Arena is one of the most attractive arenas in the area, featuring a
large window at one end, a high ceiling, excellent sound system,
seating for nearly 2000 people, and a temperature in the mid-fifties.
The arena is also home to the RIT Tigers Men`s and Women`s Hockey teams.
